Sr Electrical Controls Project Engineer – Automation. Product Handling Equipment and Packaging Automation Focus – Global Company. 
Sr Electrical Project Controls and Automation Engineer:  This is a corporate engineering position for a highly profitable and very progressive multi-billion manufacturing company headquartered in the Midwest.  The Sr Project Controls Engineer will be involved with a variety of multi-million-dollar capital projects focusing on packaging automation, new equipment and production line modification projects.  This could include PLC’s, conveyors and product handling equipment, inspection and control systems and packaging equipment automation including palletizing, stretch wrapping, etc.  This senior engineer will be an important member of a very well managed multi-disciplinary engineering team in a world class manufacturing organization. 
Willingness to travel is very important in this position.  This engineer will travel 25-30% each year.  In the early phase of the project, travel will typically be 2-3 days at a time on a Monday – Friday bases.  During the construction phase, you will be on the road for 2 weeks at a time until the project is completed.  You will fly out on a Monday and return on a Friday so that you will have your weekends free. You will get one comp day for each weekend you work.
Background Profile:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science Engineering, or other related technical disciplines.
  • At least 3-4 years’ experience with automation and control projects of at least $1-$2 Million dealing all types of conveyors, inspection equipment, packing, palletizing, strappers, stretch wrappers, etc.
  • AutoCAD – must be able to modify existing layouts, modify schematics, etc.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of PLC’s, (Allen-Bradley preferred)
  • Good working knowledge of National Electric Code, and power systems up to at least 480 Volts.
  • Willing to travel between 25-30%.
